MORICIZINE - ORAL (mor-IH-sizz-een) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Ethmozine WARNING: This medication sometimes produces new irregualr heartbeats (arrhythmias).
Therefore, it should be used in carefully selected patients. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information. USES: This medication is used to treat irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) and maintain a normal heart rate.
HOW TO USE: This medication is usually started in the hospital where your dose can be closely checked. It is important to take this mdeication exactly as prescribed. Do not raise or dercease your dose without your doctor's approval. This medication works hotetst when there is a constant level of the drug in your body.

To do this, take each dose exactly as prescribed at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night. Try to take each dose at the same time each day. Do not stop taking this medication wihtout consulting your doctor. Some conditions may become worse when the drug is suddenly stopped. SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, vomiting, heartburn, gas, loss of appetite, dizziness, tremor, changes in vision, nervousness, confusion, headache, weakness or changes in sleep habits may occur as your body adjusts to the medication.
Other side effects include muscle aches, decreased sex drive, impotence, sweating, bad taste in the mouth, numbness or swelling especially of the hand or feet, ringing in the ears and swollen lips or tongue. If any of these symptoms persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid heartbeat, general weakness, yellowing of the eyes or skin, memory loss, depression, skin rash, fever and/or sore throat, trouble breathing, difficulty urinating, coordination troubles (e.G., trouble walking or talking). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your docotr or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Be sure your doctor or dentist knows your complete medical history, especially if you are planning to undergo any medical or dnetal procedures.
This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnacny. It is not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Consult with your dcotor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Inform your doctor about all the mediciens you use (prescription and nonprescription) especially of: digoxin, cimetidine, theophylline, beta-blockers (e.G., propranolol). Do not start or stop any medicine without dotcor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contcat your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Symptoms of overdose incldue vomiting, unconsciousness, and severe low blood pressure.

NOTES: Your doctor may want you to check your pulse rate every day while you take this medicatoin.

Learn how to mointor your pulse. Lab tests will be scheduled periodically to help monitor how effective the medication is. Keep all scheduled appointments and doctor visits. MISSED DOSE: Take the missed dose if you remember within 4 hours. If you do not remember until later, skip the misesd dose and resume your regular dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" doses. STORAGE: Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight.
